Besuch aus der Heimat für den Löwen
Unser schottischer Löwe hat hohen Besuch aus seiner Heimat bekommen und damit verbunden natürlich schlussendlich auch das Nähmaschinen-Museum und wir.
Extra aus Grossbritannien sind Paula und Ray zu einem verlängerten Wochenende ins Zürcher Oberland gereist. Die frühere Besitzerin und ihr langjähriger Freund und der "Vermittler des Tiertransportes" wollten es sich nicht nehmen lassen, sich von der "artgerechten Haltung" des Löwen - der Kimball&Morton-Nähmaschine und neuen Attraktion im Nähmaschinen-Museum - persönlich zu überzeugen.
Paula und Ray haben, entgegen aller Wettervorurteile, das schönste Englische Wetter mitgebracht und sind mit strahlendem Sonnenschein in Dürnten angekommen. Nur mit dem Fachsimpeln und der gemeinsamen Liebe zu alten Nähmaschinen hätten wir bereits weitaus mehr als die wunderschönen fünf Tagen ausfüllen können. Dass wir aber auch noch viele weitere gemeinsame Gesprächsthemen gefunden haben, war uns einen grosse Freude und hat uns die Zeit nicht nur kostbar gemacht, sondern uns auch neue Freunde finden lassen.
Dass die beiden mit dem neuen "Plätzchen" des Löwen zufrieden sind, erkennt man auf diesem Bild wo eigentlich noch zwei weitere Personen fehlen: Roy und Jeffrey waren aber in unseren Gesprächen, Herzen und Gedanken äusserst präsent und waren so trotzdem bei uns.
Liebe Paula, lieber Ray, es war wunderschön, Euch bei uns zu haben und ein grosses Danke nochmals, dass der Löwe nun die Besuchenden des Nähmaschinen-Museum erfreuend und begeistern kann von Herzen alles Gute und bis bald.
A visit from home - for the lion
Our Scottish lion has received a visit from his homeland - and with it, of course, the Sewing Machine Museum and us.
Paula and Ray travelled all the way from Great Britain to spend an extended weekend in the Zurich Oberland. The former owner and her long-time friend and the "agent of the animal transport" did not want to miss the opportunity to see for themselves how the lion - the Kimball&Morton sewing machine and new attraction in the Sewing Machine Museum - is kept in a "species-appropriate manner".
Paula and Ray, contrary to all weather prejudices, brought the most beautiful English weather with them and arrived in Dürnten with bright sunshine. Just talking shop and sharing our love of old sewing machines could have filled far more than the wonderful five days. But the fact that we also found many other common topics of conversation was a great pleasure and not only made the time precious, but also allowed us to make new friends.
That the two are happy with the new "place" of the lion can be seen in this picture - where actually two more people are missing: Roy and Jeffrey, however, were extremely present in our conversations, hearts and thoughts and were thus with us anyway.
Dear Paula, dear Ray, it was wonderful to have you with us and a big thank you again that the lion can now delight and inspire the visitors of the Sewing Machine Museum - from the bottom of our hearts all the best and see you soon.
